Our Sages Showed the Way, Volume 2

For the past fifty years, Our Sages Showed the Way has had a prominent place on the bookshelf of the Jewish home. This classic has been published in nine languages, and thousands of Jewish children worldwide have been brought up on its famous aggados – stories from Chazal.

The secret behind the magic of these stories, appropriate for a broad spectrum of ages, lies in their authenticity. The legendary writer, Mrs. Yocheved Segal, a”h, was able to craft the aggados into meaningful and captivating stories without deviating from the words of the Sages. In her unique style, she was able to draw the young reader into the essence and heart of each story so that the teachings of our Sages would be understood.

In her position as a supervisor of preschools for many years, Mrs. Segal, who was an outstanding example of truth, kindness, and fear of Heaven, identified the need for children’s literature that would reflect and exemplify original Jewish content. Thus the series of Our Sages Showed the Way was born. She organized the stories according to topic, from both an educational and moral aspect, and was meticulous in expounding them using the commentators on the Talmud.
